Local Creativity Curator, Steadfast Supply, to Open in May in Washington DC’s The Yards Neighborhood

Retail Space Connects Washingtonians and Visitors with Local Creative Economy

Forest City, developer of Washington DC’s The Yards neighborhood, today announced the second annual seasonal opening of Steadfast Supply, a retail space for creative DC-based and national brands, and creative organizations.

Steadfast Supply offers Washingtonians, residents of The Yards and out-of-town visitors a unique experience to connect with local creative minds, fostering community and meaningful relationships with the growing Yards neighborhood. The store includes retail categories like home accessories, beauty, men’s and women’s fashion, kid’s fashion, pet accessories, artisan packaged foods and art. A summer-only popup in 2016, Steadfast Supply will be open through December of 2017.

“Steadfast Supply is a place built on the concept of linking creative brands with people, and has missions that are beautifully aligned,” said Virginia Arrisueno, creative director of Steadfast Supply. “Our mission is to help build community and advance the local creative economy, and that’s why we’re located at The Yards.”

The Yards is one of Washington DC’s fastest growing new communities. Located near Nationals Park, the area is an ideal neighborhood for both Washington residents who are looking for a more community- focused place to call home, and visitors to the city.

“The Yards is a neighborhood full of passion for its community, a vanguard of modern cosmopolitan living, and a place that truly seeks to celebrate the people and small businesses that call it home,” continued Arrisueno. “We are thrilled to be reopening at the Yards this coming May.”

Some of the local brands Steadfast will welcome back this year include Mint Lola, DeNada, Niko + Ava, Winthrop Clothing Co., Kate Bakes and Paisley Fig – everything from a bowtie for your dog to gluten free snacks.

In addition to the retail space, Steadfast Supply offers a dynamic sampling of ongoing, weekly and monthly events. Ongoing events include creativity master classes, opportunities to meet the creative minds behind retail brands and wellness workshops. Steadfast Supply will offer a photo walk meetup in June, a ballet and classical genre showcase in July, and a performance artist series in August.

Steadfast Supply will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-6 p.m. starting in May and is located in the Boilermaker Building in The Yards at 300 Tingey Street SE, Suite 140, Washington, DC.
